Newly compiled book of prayers follows growth of pilgrimages

The Church of England has published a book of prayers for pilgrims, inspired by the growing popularity of going on pilgrimage. Compiled by the Bishop of Oxford, the Rt Revd John Pritchard, Pocket Prayers for Pilgrims recognises that “record numbers” are going on pilgrimage, and provides spiritual refreshment for those seeking God along the road rather than in the pew.

400m gold medallist reads Olympic prayer 400 days ahead of 2012 Games

It asks God to be with the athletes, their supporters and families, and the thousands of churches preparing to organise Olympics-themed events in their communities, and it is read on a new podcast by GB Olympic 400m gold medallist Christine Ohuruogu MBE.
