Overview of the Foundation
The Church of England Professional Qualification for
The Church of England Professional Qualification for Headship
(CofEPQH) provides a unique opportunity for professional, spiritual
and personal development. Rooted in the Church's vision for
education, this programme both provides rigorous preparation for
leading a school and enables participants to support all staff and
pupils to live 'life in all its fullness' (John 10:10). The
programme will resonate with educators looking for a genuinely
pupil focused approach, ensuring excellent academic outcomes and
nurturing the whole child.
The programme is aimed at current headteachers (in post for two
years or less), senior school leaders and aspiring headteachers.
The programme is open to Church of England and community primary
and secondary schools.

NB: During the pilot year, the programme is available to schools
in the following areas: North West (Carlisle and Liverpool
Diocese), South East (Chichester, Canterbury and Rochester Diocese)

The Church of England Foundation
for Educational Leadership, University College London Institute of
Education (UCL IOE) and Deloitte are working in partnership to
design and deliver is offering a new programme specifically written
to support Multi Academy Trust CEOs working with Church of England
The programme has been shaped to
draw on the Church of England's involvement in education over 200
years, to include UCL IOE's deep expertise across the education
system, including academies and leadership, and to learn from
Deloitte's partners with extensive business knowledge and practical
experience of working in the education sector. There will be
input from leading experts and practitioners from education as well
as learning from wider sectors.
This programme is open to existing
or aspiring CEOs from CofE Diocesan MATs, MATs led by CofE schools
and MATs that include CofE schools
The design team includes some of
the UK's most experienced leadership development experts and
researchers in the field. Among others, this includes Robert Hill,
Jane Creasy, Toby Greany, Peter Addison Child and Andrew Martin,
the Church of England's Academies Adviser.
